How to read this
Land transfer tax uses Ontario's provincial brackets; Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Waterdown and Hamilton have no municipal land transfer tax. First-time buyers can get up to $4,000 of it back. With less than 20 percent down, the mortgage insurance premium is added to your mortgage, but Ontario's 8 percent sales tax on that premium is due in cash on closing, so it is counted here.
